190503 - 190512 Yagakimi Stage Play Report

Hi-

If you followed my twitter you would have known that I just came back from my Golden Week trip, which included watching the yagakimi butai for 6 times =))

So now it's time for me to sit down and type them all down before i forget any important point w

Obviously there will be spoilers, and also a lot of gay yelling/rambling/crying/screaming so advance at your own risk w

I arrived at the venue super early in order to line up for goods. The tees and pamphlete as well as clear file A sold out pretty fast so if any of you guys are attending the remaining sessions and would like to purchase them, please be at the venue 2 hours before the starting time. They will let you in 1h30 before the butai starts. Goods can also be purchased after the butai ends but by that time the items i mentioned above would prolly be sold out so advance at your own risk www

So this is the flower stand for Pi that the Japanese fans and also some international fans (including me) present to Pi. Sadly its only there until today ;v;

Flowers from Nakatani sensei herself. Seemed like she attended the shonichi (first day) and also yesterday's session (with the after talk). Kusunoki-san (the lead editor) and Haruchan (Iwata Haruki from Kukugumi) also attended yesterday's show ;v;

My first impression was that there were so many female staff (cute ones as well lmao) and also lots of female attendees were there :o

The venue inside was rather smaller than i expected so despite wherever your seat is, you can still feel cosy and it was easy to observe the whole stage!

Anw, I will talk about the plot first.

Before watching it i was pretty curious to see where the butai would end. I thought it would stop before the aquarium date lol but no, i was in for a big surprise w

The butai was exactly 2h long, covering from the beginning till chapter 40. Of course there were plenty of edits here and then but in my opinion they did a pretty decent job in condensing the main plot and highly important moments into 2h.

So the plot went like this:

Student Council Election Preparation → Student Council Election → Student Council Play Proposal → Student Council Play Start → Summer Vacation Camp → Screen Change → Student Council Play Main Part → Confession.

They condensed lots of important moments into one setting, which was fresh and interesting:

- Touko handed Yuu the planetarium in the student council room, telling her "Kisu shitai" right after that, followed by Yuu asking her "Senpai, how much do you like me?"with Touko's reply "Daisuki dayo" (i died. Pi's voice during that scene just. killed me. i mean no one can beat Kotobuki Minako at Touko's "Yuu, eroi" BUT STILL)

- They did not have the french kiss scene (what a shame lol) but the one with Touko's caressing Yuu's lips and asking for permission to kiss (before the Sport Festival) was included in the scene in which they were sharing the umbrella. So yeah, kissing under the rain, sharing an umbrella. I will forgive them for skipping the french kiss because that rainy kiss was hella romantic ;v;

- They did not go on a date in the aquarium but instead, Touko calls Yuu on the phone and the convo goes the same like the one during the date (Touko's relief when she says suki and the reasons for that etc.)

When they finish the Kimi shika Shiranai play, Yuu finally tells Touko that she has now changed. Touko replied to her that thanks to what Yuu tells her before the play begins, Touko was able to change and move on, so "IT WAS OK FOR YUU TO CHANGE TO" (i swear my inner self went a a a a a a a A A A A A A AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA) when i heard that line OTL

So Yuu gathers her courage,kisses Touko and tells Touko she loves her

WITH WHICH TOUKO REPLIED "URESHII"

IF YOU READ CHAPTER 40 ALREADY YOU WILL UNDERSTAND

ON MY FIRST WATCH I STARTED CRYING MY GAYASS OUT AFTER THE URESHII LINE

AND AFTER THAT THEY JUST MOVE IN CLOSER TO EACH OTHER, TOUKO'S RIGHT HAND ON YUU'S LEFT CHECK, HER OTHER HAND WAS INTERWINING FINGERS WITH YUU'S AND THEY SHARE A KISS ;;;;;;;;;; AND I SWEAR THAT KISS WAS SUPER CLOSE YOU CAN SEE THEIR FACE TOUCHING EACH OTHER. I KNOW IT IS A STAGE KISS AND ALL BUT STILL THAT WAS TOO MUCH. ESPECIALLY AFTER THE 5TH SHOW THERE WERE SO MANY PEOPLE SITTING AT ROW 1 AND 2 SAYING THEIR LIPS TOUCHED AND I JUST. DIED. THERE ARE LIKE 6 KISSES IN TOTAL BUT THE VERY LAST ONE IS THE MOST YABAI ONE. ;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Moving on from that (sorry that was. gay rambling w), they used the anime OP for the butai's start and end as well. However when the cast comes out to greet us again, they turn on hectopascal instrumental version ;v; i wanted to hear Pi and Misato version so bad......hectopascal....

I will say something about Misato, Pi and Karin's acting ;v;

Misato ( as Yuu). 

First time i saw her with Yuu's wig and the uniform i immediately went HOLY SH ITS YUU ;; however, i was surprised to actually see Misato's version of Yuu. It was a nice surprise tho! Her "Yuu" is somewhat more energetic and active than the "Yuu" in the manga/anime. Somewhat mischievous as well tbh! I think it might be due to the fact that she talks and walks really fast lol 

Another example of Misato's "Yuu":

- in the anime/manga during the scene she was "hearing" Touko's heartbeat, Yuu does not actually understand why Touko was upset with the "My wrist..." line. Meanwhile for the butai, upon hearing Touko's "My wrist...", Yuu's face was all grinning w

Also during the 3rd show, Misato cried when Yuu confessed to Touko OTL I saw her tear dropped and i went lhsga;lkh;flghkl;dfkg and i ended up crying as well l o l me and my emo emo ass ; ;

To tell yall the truth, up until the very first show i still could NOT belive Pi was gonna be Touko www 

Im pretty sure im not the only one thinking like that tbh lol i blame it on her personality being the complete opposition of Touko www

And she proved us all wrong ;v; she did such a good job as Touko tho ;v; so beautiful so elegant so zurui ;v; 

Also I really love how she keeps tucking her hair behind the ear, and how she holds Yuu's hand ;v;

Altho during some part her voice reminds me of the edgelord Banana but thats ok ;v; i live for Pi's voice ;v;

Also I realised Pi was really good at acting with just her gaze. I mean, you can pinpoint the exact moment her character's mood change just by looking at her eyes...........like during the scenes where Yuu tells her "can we not do the play" and also the "ureshikatta/im happy part" (during the rainy chapter)

Karin (as Sayaka)

SHE IS THE SAYAKA WE DESERVE ;;;;;;;;;;;;

Even her voice was so similar to anime's Sayaka ; ;

She was so in character i love her Sayaka a lot ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Too bad Sayaka did not confess to Touko in the stage play /sob altho she did tell Yuu that she loves Touko too......

Anyway, this is the final part, the after show talk from the show on 190506 (focusing on Pi cause im biased af w)

- Pi Karin and Misato are pretty close especially Pi and Karin (they r under the same agency soooooooo). Also Pi and Karin are the complete opposition of Touko and Sayaka, while Misato is more like the "Yuu" in manga www

- Pi wanna play Dojima since hes the genki type

- Pi often stares at Karin's face and then just laugh for no reason =))))

- Pi made really cute face every time she says "kimi ga suki ni narisou" but only the girl playing Miyako can see it because Pi was not facing the audience :) why Pi why ; ;

- Not counting the practice sessions, by the time they finish all 14 shows Pi and Misato would have kissed 90 times l o l. When they were talking about this, Misato was all shy and quiet meanwhile Pi was just :-j (goddamit Pi!!)

Another fun part:

- During the shonichi, when they come back out again to greet the audience, Misato was like "Nanami senpai do you wanna say anything" which made Pi went "Ehhhhh" and the whole venue was laughing. Then her rambling mode was switched on lmao. She was talking nonsense for like 2min and there were still people laughing, which made her go "Nanami Touko desu!" w but after like 5 minute she kinda gave up and turned to Misato "If i keep going on they will find out (that im not Touko)" wwww

I hope she will be allowed to talk more on the last show since HER MC SKILL IS GREAT YALL wwww

Overall the butai did a satisfying job. The cast was perfect. The script (altho can be a bit rushed sometimes) gave us a HE to Touko and Yuu so i will happily devour it ;v; I cant wait to watch it again, and also the BD coming out in October which will include cast interviews (and hopefully backstage material ;v;) the chemistry between everyone was so good im so glad i made it to watch the play several times ; ;

Also, heres some goods i got w

=> this one is my favorite im so glad i managed to get it out of 27 random selections ;;;;;;;;;;v;;;;;;;;;;

 => Karin is too cute...........

 => I wish Pi didnt wear the wig for them shoots... ;v;

 => The perfect Yuu we did not deserve ;v;

I am back after watching it for the 10th time ;v;

Now having yagakimi butai withdrawal symptom...doushiyo ;o;

So according to the after talk on 190508, the ending was changed at very last minute with agreement coming from Nakatani Nio sensei ; ; originally it was a /sad/ ending, but god bless whoever thought of the change and made it come tru. GOD BLESS ; ;

The night show of 190805, the seiyuu team also came to the butai ; ; Pi cried a lot (her emoemo ass never changed wwww) meeting Minako-san and they talked a lot about Touko ; ; wheres my Pi x Minako-san 2shot ; ;

190510 night show: I SAW THEIR LIPS TOUCHED WITH MY OWN EYES ; ;

Senshuuraku: i went all doki doki again watching it the last time.....even cried after the Ureshii part..... during curtain call Karin and Pi cried so much but we laughed too hard at them www kawaisouni www also my ot3 heart was well fed seeing Karin being clingy with Misato, Karin hugging Pi, Karin telling Pi to face her (Pi was avoiding Karin's face because she was about to cry and make Pi cry too lolol), and the final scene where Pi and Misato hug ; ;

And today, Misato just confirmed that EVEN THOUGH WE CANNOT SEE THEM, ALL THE KISSES WERE REAL. THEIR LIPS TOUCHED. THEY WERE NOT STAGED KISS. SO IN TOTAL THEY KISSED 90 TIMES ( 6 KISSES X 14 SHOWS + 6 KISSES DURING NEGEPURO/THE FINAL REHEARSAL DAY)

IM NOT OK

WE COULDNT SEE THEM

BUT THEY WERE ALL REAL
